Autumn

Summer’s well and truly gone,

But there’s nothing wrong,

I’ll enjoy the autumn sun,

Take each day one by one.

It’s a fresh cool day,

The treetops sway,

Leaves are turning gold

to glorious reds and yellows old.

                 ———–

Leaves gently flutter down,

There’s no need to frown,

For I love this time of year,

The night’s draw in and I cheer!

Bushes laden with berries red

and I sleep cosy in my bed,

After a nightcap of chocolate hot,

I’ll give tomorrow another shot.
